Sephora Favorites

It’s no secret that I love makeup and always have. My mother can be my witness there. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve moved on from caking Covergirl cream foundation all over my face and have actually started to learn what certain products are used for and how well they can work. This has led me to develop some favorite products that I use as a part of my everyday makeup routine. I try not to buy everything at Sephora, because things can get pricey, but there are some things you just have to splurge on because they work so well.

Here’s the list of my 7 favorite products from Sephora:

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz – $21.00

Anastasia Beverly Hills has a variety of brow products. The most popular is probably their brow pomade, which is more of a cream and needs a brush to apply. The Brow Wiz is like a retractable pencil that applies smooth and precise – perfect for on-the-go applications and touch ups. This brow pencil has been a staple in my makeup bag for years and I use the Caramel shade to match my root color. I’ve yet to find another tool that gives me as much control with thin, dark lines and lasts all day. It’s handy having the brush on the other end to avoid needing to carry another brush around with me and the pencil itself it small enough to easily add to any makeup bag. The Brow Wiz lasts me roughly a month, but I always like to have a backup just in case because my routine is not complete without it!

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer – $30.00

Let’s admit – we all need a little help under the eyes from time to time. I tend to have a little dullness and sometimes puffiness under mine, but the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer takes care of that every time. Not only do I use this product under my eyes, but also to highlight/accent my chin, cupid’s bow, and nose. It has the perfect consistency to blend out smoothly without getting cakey. Even in humid temperatures it stays on smooth. I’ve tried to find dupes for this concealer, because $30 isn’t cheap, but I can’t seem to find anything that works as well. Plus, this tube lasts me a long time!

BeautyBlender Pro – $20.00

I’ve had several beauty blenders throughout the time I have been using makeup. It will hurt some of you to know I was unaware you were supposed to wet it before using until this year…It even says it on the packaging! I also used to hardly wash them and just get new ones once they got crummy. BUT now I know the rules! Wet before using & wash regularly. Now I’ve been on the same sponge for as long as I can remember. These are worth every penny and I’ve yet to find anything that works as well. Wetting the sponge prevents too much makeup from being sucked into it, therefore making your products last longer! Which at Sephora prices – that’s what we all want. I use the sponge for my foundation and concealer, applying one to my face first and using the sponge to blend the product into my skin. I get a smooth finish every time which is why I keep this handy tool in my makeup bag.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Stick Foundation – $25.00

I only started using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Stick Foundation this year. I had previously been using liquid foundations of all different brands until stick foundations became a thing and I wanted to give one a try. What’s great about this foundation is how easily it can be applied. I literally draw on my face and then blend it in with the beauty blender. So, not only does it work well but it’s fun to use! I would consider this a medium-full coverage and it is buildable as well. So, the more you apply the more coverage you get. I don’t find that it gets cakey, but if not blended properly it can gather in certain areas like around the nose, etc. I’ve been using this foundation every day since I initially purchased it and love that it’s offered in many shades.

Kat Von D Tattoo Eyeliner – $20.00

Initially I received this eyeliner as a sample and ended up falling in love with it. We all know eyeliner can be tricky and without the proper tool it can wind up causing major headaches. I actually don’t wear eyeliner too often, but on rare occasions I decide I want to, I don’t want it to cause me too much trouble. The Tattoo Liner has a perfectly sized applicator for you to start small and work your way up. What’s best about this product is the pigmentation of the liner itself. You don’t need to apply layers and layers to get the crisp black color you want in your eyeliner, you get it on the first try. As it suggests in the name this liner stays on like a tattoo, I promise it does come off, but it stays on all day without needing a touch up. It’s perfect for busy days or nights out and I love adding it to my routine for a more glammed up look.

Fenty Beauty Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter – $34.00

I’m a little ashamed that the most expensive item on this list is the product I use the least of, but it’s my favorite highlighter and Rihanna made it so she can have all my money. I like to use a highlighter as a part of my daily routine because it really makes all your hard work pop. It’s also fun because you’re basically applying glitter to your face and who doesn’t love glitter? I use the Mean Money/Hustla Baby palette which perfectly describe me (just kidding I don’t know what either of those things are). All I know, is this highlighter works and it works well. This palette in particular is great because one of the shades is more muted while the other lights your face up like a firework. So, for day time looks you can have a soft glow and then light it up for going out nights. Though, I admit I use the stronger, Hustla Baby, shade all the time. Who doesn’t want to feel like a glowing goddess all the time?

Urban Decay All Nighter Long Lasting Setting Spray – $32.00

I love setting spray and this one is my favorite because after all that work getting your makeup on you want it to stay on as long as possible. When I apply setting spray after my makeup routine I always think of it as selecting ‘Save As’ on an important document. Your look is saved for the day. This product lives up to its name by not only giving you a refreshing feeling after applying, but by locking your makeup on without it feeling oily or cakey. It’s a must have for nights out, vacations, and important days. On days when I don’t apply it after my routine, I’m actually sad.

There you have it. The list of items I refuse to purchase from anywhere else or use dupes for. What’s great about shopping Sephora online is you can have the list of your favorites saved to your account for easy reordering in case you can’t remember exactly what brand or shade you liked. You also get 3 free samples with each order and if you’re part of their rewards program you get even more freebies. I even get free 2-day shipping as a rewards member, which is great when I’ve nearly run out of a product!
